Ashill, Holme Hale & District
Gardening Club
Ashill, Holme Hale & District Gardening Club was formed in July 2004 at Ashill Community Centre by ten enthusiastic gardeners who formed a committee and established aims. Our membership has both increased in number (currently we have about 100 members), and also in geographical scope, to include not only Ashill and Holme Hale but also Necton, Swaffham and Watton and surrounding areas. In 2021 the name was changed to Ashill, Holme Hale and District Garden Club to reflect this wider catchment area.
We meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at 2.30pm at Holme Hale Pavilion, School Road, Holme Hale, IP25 7PD. The village is situated about five miles south-east of Swaffham.
We regularly invite visiting speakers to talk about plants, gardening and related topics. At meetings we run competitions, a raffle and plant sales. The highlight of our year is the Flower Show which takes place in June. We also have a Fruit & Vegetable Show in late August. We have two coach outings a year and often two or three afternoon visits to local gardens. Our Christmas Party is in December and an annual summer barbecue.
